The bill, H.R. 2847, Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act, cleared the House on March 4. If the Senate passes the legislation unchanged, it would go directly to the President for his signature. In order for the Senate to take up the legislation, a vote to close off debate is required. That vote, scheduled to take place this afternoon at 5:30 pm (EDT), is expected to gain the necessary 60 votes. The final vote to pass the legislation would then take place on March 17.  Read the NAPA Summary of HR 2847
