Training Videos

The Asphalt Pavement Association of Michigan (APAM) has developed some short videos that can be used to educate new or seasoned employees. These videos can be accessed from the list below and new videos are added periodically. If you have suggestions for future videos, please contact APAM with your ideas. 

• Asphalt 101 - What is Asphalt - This video provides an overview of what asphalt mixtures are, what they are used for, as well as how they are manufactured & constructed. Great for newcomers and anyone needing a quick refresher!
• Asphalt Mixture Selection - Want to know how to select the right mixture for your application? If so, this video provides the background needed for choosing the right mixture for the job! Great for those looking to learning more as well as engineers.

In Partnership with the Center for Technology and Training at Michigan Technological University, APAM worked to develop a series of several short webinars that address some of the most frequently requested presentation topics.

• Core Concepts of Asphalt Pavement Design - This course covers the basics of asphalt pavement design. Whether you've never taken an asphalt class or you need a refresher, you'll learn some fundamentals that you can build on.
• Ask The Expert - How To Read An Asphalt Mix Design - In this recorded webinar, you'll hear answers to questions about reading an asphalt mix design.
• Selecting The Right Asphalt Pavement Mix Design - This webinar will explain the key considerations and best practices when selecting an asphalt pavement mix design. You'll learn strategies to tailor your mix design to meet your needs and improve durability of your asphalt pavement
• Ask the Expert - Asphalt Pavement Inspection Basics - This course will field your questions about asphalt pavement inspection. You'll learn best practices from industry experts as well as tips and tricks to use on your project sites.

Lunch & Learns

Back by popular demand, the Asphalt Pavement Association of Michigan (APAM) offers Lunch & Learn sessions to provide the latest information and applications for Asphalt Pavements. Presentations are tailored to meet your needs. Sessions typically last an hour, depending on the presentation requested. Sessions can be scheduled any time of the day that is convenient for you and your colleagues. Personal Development Hours (PDH’s) are issued upon completion of the presentation.
